Great Lakes Scholarship - Brigs

Great Lakes Scholarship 2021 - now open for applications!

The Great Lakes Scholarship provides an opportunity for high school students enrolled in an applicable school district to join the historic Tall Ship TS Playfair as a member of the crew during the 2021 Summer. The scholarship encourages students to consider the relationship of their communities with the Great Lakes through written questions on local history, the marine environment, first nations and ecology. Successful applicants will be awarded a place on a voyage departing from their school district's Home Port (see below). All course, training and administrative fees are waived.

Requirements

For 2021, candidates from the following applicable school districts will be considered. Applicants can be from any school covered by the district, not only the Home Port.

As well as being enrolled in one of the above school boards, candidates must meet our core program requirements:

  • Be 13 to 18 years of age as of 1st June 2021
