Winter Workshop 2025

Workshop warmer 2025 splash

Workshop-Warming Party

After several years of moving between different warehouses on the waterfront, our winter program finally has a permanent home!

Join us at our Workshop-warming party to see our new space! We will be cutting a big red ribbon, and serving hot chocolate. Bring your refillable coffee cup, and, if you would like, some light snacks or holiday treats to share (potluck style). Winter and Holiday themed clothing is welcome!

When: 1 pm - 3:30 pm Sunday, December 14, 2025 . Ribbon cutting at 2:00

Where: The shop is located in the shipyard behind 210 Hillyard Street - We’ll need to guide you to the right spot when you arrive - register here so we know you’re coming, and can get in touch with us when you arrive. There is ample parking.

Address: 210 Hillyard St, Hamilton, ON L8L 4J5

Who: Anyone in the Brigs Youth Sail Training / Toronto Brigantine community that would like to celebrate our new workspace. Summer trainees, adult volunteers, winter program participants, youth crew, alumni, family members, friends of the program new and old; all are welcome.

Merch: Our winter fundraiser brigs tee-shirts and merch will be available for purchase in person on-site.

Mobility/Accessibility: The workshop itself is located on a large pad of rough gravel bedding. There is one step up to enter the shop building. Let us know if you have any accessibility needs and we’ll be happy to do what we can to accommodate. There are accessible washrooms nearby.

Donation / Cost: There is no cost to come, however we would love to collect donations for our winter season. For those who would like to, make a donation at the bottom of this page! For all the names we see donating through this page, we will add an ornament to the wall with your name on it to brighten up our space over the winter. (Or if you are already a regular donor, just let us know if you want a named star :-) ) For our major sponsors of the workshop, we will be hanging a dedication plaque inside the new building.

At this time of year, funds are going into sponsoring winter program participants’ meals and training, outfitting our new shop with proper work tables and storage, buying materials for winterizing and ship maintenance, and all of the other operations that we have going on.
