Please join us for a remarkable evening in support of Brigs Youth Sail Training on Wednesday, April 17th at the Hamilton Club. The event begins with a welcome reception at 4:30pm, immediately following Brigs' 62nd AGM.

This event promises to be both inspiring and entertaining. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of our Board Member Ian Hamilton, we will host Adam Shoalts, a renowned professional explorer and national best-selling author, for an exclusive presentation, "From Lake Erie to the Arctic: A 3,400km Solo Journey," from 5pm – 6pm. Prepare to be captivated by his tales of adventure and discovery!

The evening will provide light refreshments, and an opportunity for networking and conversation with fellow supporters of Brigs. Following the presentation, you are welcome to stay at the Club to enjoy an evening of live jazz from 6-7pm. The Dress Code for the Hamilton Club can be found here.

Our guest speaker Adam Shoalts was elected a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society for “extraordinary contributions to geography” and in 2017 completed a nearly 4,000 km solo journey across Canada’s Arctic.

A geographer, author, and historian, he holds a Ph.D. from McMaster University, has participated in numerous archaeological digs, and undertakes solo expeditions in the most remote wilderness areas. He is the Westaway Explorer-in-Residence of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, author of 5 best-selling books, and in 2016 was named a national champion of the Trans-Canada Trail. For more information please see adamshoalts.com.

Tickets for this event are priced at $100.00, and every cent of your contribution will directly benefit Brigs. Your support will assist with our continued mission to provide truly unique leadership and personal development opportunities to youth from all backgrounds, through outdoor adventures aboard traditional tall ships.

Ticket purchases are eligible for a 75% donation receipt and all other donations will be receipted for the full amount, upon request.
In the unfortunate event that you are unable to join us, we kindly ask you to consider making a donation in lieu of attendance at www.brigs.ca/donate. Your generosity will still contribute significantly to the cause. Brigs continues to offer its programs to all youth, regardless of financial circumstance. With rising costs and maintenance milestones to extend the life of our ship, TS Playfair, who turned 50 last year, we continue to raise funds to keep our voyages affordable.

We hope you can join us in making this evening a resounding success!
