Brigs' purpose is to deliver challenging adventure leadership programs on board our tall ships for youth aged 13 - 18, regardless of financial background. No previous sailing experience is required - you will learn to sail on board!

Brigs is a registered charity dedicated to reducing financial barriers to adventure and personal development experiences for young people. All youth voyage fees displayed on the booking pages are subsidized by 40% by fundraising, and additional financial assistance is available to cover part or all of the remaining fee on a needs-based basis.

Brigs also offers opportunities in the spring and fall for groups, and adults 18+, to get out on the water and experience life on a tall ship. A truly unique way to learn to sail!

Every summer the TS Playfair and her crew travel the Great Lakes.

Youth 13-18 can join our crew for one of our 1-2 week long voyages to get the full experience of living and sailing on a tall ship. No previous experience required - learn to sail and live together in this challenging, adventurous, and totally unique setting.

Join us for our new Hamilton Harbour Day Camp in Hamilton Harbour! It is based on board our traditionally rigged tallship, STV Pathfinder. 

Hamilton Harbour Day Camp runs Mondays-Fridays from 8:30-3:30 every day except Thursday, when participants stay overnight on board the ship at anchor in the bay. Trainees will get the full sailing experience and end the week with the overnight where they will have dinner together and sing the night away with sea shanties, take turns standing watch, and build camaraderie under the stars.

This camp is perfect for teens aged 12 - 16, who are looking to have fun on the water while having an adventure and learning to sail a tall ship! No previous sailing experience is required.
